چکیده

The decomposition of light transport into direct and global components, diffuse specular interreflections, subsurface scattering allows for new visualizations in everyday scenes. In particular, indirect contains a myriad information about the complex appearance materials useful computer vision inverse rendering applications. this paper, we present imaging technique that captures analyzes components via using synchronized projector-camera system. rectified system illuminates scene with epipolar planes corresponding to projector rows, vary two key parameters capture plane-to-ray between row camera pixel: (1) offset rolling shutter (implemented as synchronization delay), (2) exposure row. We describe how performs illumination multiplexing, develop nonlinear optimization algorithm demultiplex resulting 3D operator. Using our system, are able live short long-range non-epipolar transport, disambiguate scattering, distinguish according their properties. show utility capturing analyzing hidden structure veins human skin.

Light-programmable Logic Gate

This paper describes a new method of retroactively programming a genetic circuit to exhibit the behavior of one of four logic gates (AND, OR, NAND, and NOR) using pulses of light. These pulses must occur after DNA transfection into the host cell. The pulses of light deactivate a photosensitive kinase, inhibiting phosphorylation. Using this effect, we can control the transcription of recombinase...

Light Transport Component Analysis & Rendering

In this paper we present a technique for image synthesis that partitions the total light transport reaching the camera into rendering components. A partition based on light path types and a separation of the image is used as the basis for these components. This allows for a locally adaptive rendering of lighting effects. An importance heuristic is subsequently defined on each of these rendering...

Non-symmetric Scattering in Light Transport Algorithms

Non-symmetric scattering is far more common in computer graphics than is generally recognized, and can occur even when the underlying scattering model is physically correct. For example, we show that non-symmetry occurs whenever light is refracted, and also whenever shading normals are used (e.g. due to interpolation of normals in a trianglemesh, or bumpmapping [5]). We examine the implications...

Paper pump for passive and programmable transport.

In microfluidic systems, a pump for fluid-driving is often necessary. To keep the size of microfluidic systems small, a pump that is small in size, light-weight and needs no external power source is advantageous. In this work, we present a passive, simple, ultra-low-cost, and easily controlled pumping method based on capillary action of paper that pumps fluid through conventional polymer-based ...
